For the brown skinned beauties looking for the perfect contour powder to compliment your deeper skin, Film Noir Blush is it. It gives me a bomb cheekbone contour and I receive so many compliments and inquiries as to what I’m wearing. Apply a light layer and build it up to your desired intensity.įilm Noir stays put all day without fading. I find that if you don’t use an appropriate brush it applies patchy, so I highly suggest a contour brush like the Sephora Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53, e.l.f. Speaking of pigmentation, Film Noir is extremely pigmented so you have to use a very light hand to avoid looking bruised, and the right brush is key. It’s a deep chocolate brown with slight red undertones, and a matte finish. I’ve been obsessed with using cream contours for months, but I’ve now been using Film Noir Blush to contour my face every day since I picked it up.įilm Noir Blush is described as a rich warm chocolate, and that it is. As soon as I swatched Film Noir I knew that it would be perfect for contouring. One of the new shades was Film Noir Blush, inspired by the lipstick. Some of the shades were new releases, while others were brought back from past collections. I was definitely nervous with a Medium Dark palette showed up for me to review, but I’m glad I tested it out because not only would these shades work on a wide range of skintones, but the MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palette in Medium Dark is perfect for both travel and daily use.Last Summer, MAC extended their powder blush line up with nine permanent shades. If you’re looking to get even more glow for evening, I love how this palette ooks paired with the MAC Lustre Drops in Barbados Girl from the MAC Future MAC Collection (you can see what that looks like here). The highlight shades are great for those looking for a subtle glow that’s not at all glittery and the peachy powder would be nice and brightening, especially if you have a darker skintone than me. The brown shade is very warm, so I don’t feel like you get the traditional sculpting feeling and it is more bronzing, at least on my skintone. I went for a more natural contour but I still love the effect. Using the MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palette in Medium Dark definitely adds more dimension back into my face compared to just using foundation (on the left). The MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palettes are available in 4 difference shades for different skin tones, and while I would not describe my skin as Medium Dark, these soft blendable powders and creams make it still completely wearable as you can see below. The formula on all three products is excellent. I thought this was pretty clever packaging from MAC! MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palette in Medium Dark includes a Cream Colour Base in Naked Universe which is a golden shimmery beige, a Shaping Powder in Light Sweep, which is a warm peach with the tiniest bit of shimmer, and a Sculpting Powder in Shadester which a warm medium matte brown. Because the cream is “hidden” when using the powders, I had no issues at all with getting powder into my cream. I appreciate that if you are going to have creams and powders in the same container, they are separated this way. The powders slide to the side and underneath there’s a cream highlight. The MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palettes come in a square black plastic container that opens up to reveal a mirror as well as a highlight and contour powder. It’s especially easy with products like the MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palette in Medium Dark*, which combines verything you need to highlight and contour into one compact…compact. For somebody who claims not to really contour, I do have a few contour posts coming up on the blog and I’ve got to admit, it’s getting a lot more accessible to me than it was before.
